Yes, had rear o/s tyre puncture on my 4runner. Just heared a metalic clunk as i drove over something in the road that i never saw and the tyre deflated in less than 10 seconds, time enough to pull of the road. On inspection after removing the wheel i found a gash in the tyre tread, cut right through a near new BF Goodrich AT. Just luck that i was traveling at about 40mph!

Nope, just wondering is it really necessary lugging a big, heavy, PITA, hanging off the back door spare wheel around all the time, plus I hate the look of the rear mounted spare on a Surf.
Anyone got a tidy, black 3rd gen with an underslung spare wanna swap tailgates?

if its not nails, screws or fencing staples, its stones right through the tire.
dosn't matter what vehicle they all get them.
worse year was when council decided to be cheap. normally stone is put in a tumbler to take the sharp edges off. they went cheap and missed that step. tire companies had a very good year.

Probbly also dosent help im in Christchurch and most of our roads STILL haven't been repaired since our spate of earthquake destroying my once beautiful city, so tyre shops, suspension shops and wheel alignment places have been making a killing over the last 2 years
So yes I have used my spare a few times now, and can say having 3 33" tyres and 1 spare 30" feels weird to drive, must find a way to cram a bigger spare under truckLast edited by Kiwisurfing; 4 November 2012, 10:50.Its a new truck, Because every parts been replaced
