  • On the Scrounge!

    Hi folks.

Just thinking about putting on my snorkel and had a look at hole saws for the firewall and wing holes....how much!!... was wondering if anyone had the 83mm and the 89mm one knocking about in their shed that i could borrow and post back. Being a cheeky i know but there would be a nice bottle of vino in the return post as a thank you!!

Also missing one bolt for a body lift will post size later

    Thanks in advance!!

You should be able pick up a cheap set for under a tenner dude.
Even if they only manage these holes will still work out cheaper.

Fair enough had only really looked at decent ones as i hadn't wanted a cheap set to fall to bits halfway through.

Just a suggestion anyway. Better to use quality but these are normally pretty heavy so will cost abit to post. What about hire shops?

We just used a jigsaw with a metal bit for corners. Used the template to draw out the edges of the hole, marked the center then drew out the hole with a compass. then just put tape around the outside of the outline to protect the remaining body work from the saw. I don't think our snorkel had an inner hole tho...

Just feel better using the cutters for neatness (sods law always seems to kick in with me!), as there are two holes for the Safari Snorkel http://toyotasurf.asn.au/techsite/snorkel.htm . No biggie really will sort it

              Cheers

Wee tip on hole saws, ones with a finer tooth pitch give a neater cut in thin sheet metals.
