    anyone know where i can get a really long firewire lead?
    i'm using it for my home network for a while.... but it's only 3 ft long!
    nee nar nee nar, i'm a fire engine!

        Longest Firewire I have seen is 4m - that's from www.ebuyer.com - they are also good value for money.

          www.dabs.com have got Belkin ones at 4m long. That seems to be around the longest you can get.

              I think the original standard was a max length of 4.5m
              A US site claims secure use upto 10m - 20m for DV use only.

              Don't suppose a long x-over cable would suffice - or are you ethernet-less ?

                  yeah, i think i binned the card to put something else in... i just got an empty slot!... got a 20m x over cable though!
                  it was only that i thought i'd give it a go connecting the 2 with firewire lead and it worked i thought that was a bit handy!
