Tidied up my rear today...

Looks good, I like the texture.

I'm planning at some point to take my nudge bar off, or at least all the plastics on there so that I can tidy up the metal underneath as there some surface rust and I like the look of your paint, I was just going to Hammerite mine, but yours looks neat...

It's brilliant. That is one "light" coat. dry in minutes. Will be soft for a few days, but then it dries like cow $hit on your boots....
...and if you do happen to scratch it, the lightest over spray gives a seamelsss repair.

Here's my (old) A bar done the same...



All I did was quckly rub some sand paper over the chrome and away I went. As of today, it's all still on there and looking as good as A bars can look...

I'm off to Halfords tomorrow to pick up some stuff to under seal my chassis, probably wax oil or whatever, whilst I'm there I'd like to grab a tin or two of this stuff you've used, what's it actually called? I've had a quick search for Truck Bed spray paint, but all I can really find is Rust-Oleum stuff which seems to be in the US...

One will be plenty. I did my (ex) front A bar, several coats. All around the welds on the rock sliders and the rear tow bar out of one can.

It covers in one coat, even from bare metal.

HALFORDS Truck bed spray paint. It is a grey can with a red truck, with a black bed on display....
They stock it in our local smallish store..

That looks smart, without being shiny.

Did you prep the nudge bar or just paint over the chrome?

I've been thinking about painting my front bumper for ages, well the top as that's all that's there...

Just a quick rub down with sand paper, then wet and dry...
most importantly getting it CLEAN ie dust and muck free.

I suppose you could put a key primer on if you wanted to do a proper job...

It is very matt though, so beware you can't polish it! However it does clean very easy with a bucket of soapy water. Mud doesn't seem to stick to the roughness, if you see what I mean?
