If it's not there when stationary or all the time and/or it's speed related, it's more likely to be drive train/suspension/wheel related rather than the engine.

Uneven tyre pressures, uneven tyre wear, a bulge in one of the tyres, the wheels may also need balancing, check for worn track rod ends and ball joints, the prop U/Js and wheel bearings, steering box, steering idler arm or steering damper.

If it's non of the above it could be clutch or thrust bearing related or if it's an auto the flex plate may be bent or cracked.

Also check engine and gearbox mounts.

Sounds like a UJ on the propshaft, just had similar symptoms myself.

Forgot shock absorber bushes. I've experienced vibrations due to all the thing I've mentioned at one time or another. I'd start with checking the simplest things first.

            judder

checked everything and all fine as got polly bushes almost everywere, just been to local garage and he thinks after test drive it could be the box as i dont turn off the overdrive or it could be air leaking from a coupleing (as ive got a intercooler fitted from a pajero) so checking them today

I would stop using that garage if I were you, they're obviously monkeys!
They don't seem to know how an auto transmission works and now they're 'experimenting' with air con gasses??!!

The only thing you should be getting done is wheel balancing. (assuming to tyres are in good condition)
If the judder only happens at 40mph and not above then it's something that goes out of balance at the speed/rpm.

Also, could you please re-punctuate or re-word this sentence from your first post in this thread.....

I don't know whether you can get up to 40 or not!

I wait with baited breath to see how that turns out for him.
Maybe I am too much of a cynic but I can imagine the garage owners thinking Kerr-ching this will pay for my summer holidays....

Why did you fit a new turbo to try and stop the car from juddering?

i changed my turbo as i bought a second hand one when my original one packed up, then i saved to buy a new one as the second hand one wasnt great, but a bearing set would fix it thats why it up for FREE for someone that might need it. but the judder feels like engine problems not wheel balancing, as its almost like im in too high a gear.

It is here to help , like now helping you not to believe everything a garage tells you. At the endof the day a garage wants to make money off people , and they love it when people don't know what the problem is , or in the case of your other thread about air con, when they think they can blind you with technical jargon .
People here like to have a bit of a joke so just go with it , its easier lol

Most posts posted in the general section either go off topic ,end up being old mates catching up or people hijacking them, generally.

As for taking the mick I can't believe anyone on here would take the mick shurely not

Perhaps if your original post had had a bit more detail with regards to the actual specifics of your problem then generally you would have got some specific answers .

Is the issue road speed or engine speed for instance?
