    Hi Vince,
    Is this the speed sensor?
    Disconnecting it makes no difference, Does the other, larger speed sensor (with cog) work if this one doesn't?

    Yes, thats the sensor that controls the gear changes.

    The other speed sensor just goes to the speedo, but you can use it to control gear changes too.

    Did Ross give you the ECU wiring diagrams with the truck?

    Can you get gears by manually shifting the gear lever?

    Can you wield a soldering iron with confidence?

      YES, BUT THEY ARE ALL OVER THE PLACE...IE 'L' is second then neutral, it only pops into first when on the over run at slow speeds,

        Sounds like your having the same sort of gear selection
        problems that storm was having with his conversion.
