3rd gen egr

Has any one removed the egr on a 3trd gen? if so, has it made a difference either poss of neg?

I pulled the top pipe off and put a screw in the end to block it off. I'm not sure if that's the same effect as blanking it fully. I 'think' I notice a difference in as much as it seems quicker to pull away but it could be the placebo effect! Definitely no negative effect though.
