  • Hello from newbie

Hi everyone, just introducing myself before i start asking loads of really dumb questions.
Just got my Surf, bloke persuaded me to give him my Rangy for his Surf and a handfull of beer vouchers. I'll admit to being impressed on many things and disappointed in others. It's a 2.4 ssrx, 92 model, not in bad nick, no body rust and only a little underneath. The cylinder head and radiator have been replaced. I find it great on fuel (if the speedo is reading in miles it's about 50 mpg! So I thinks it's in Km although mph clocks) My Dad complained like f*** about the back seat comfort over a 200 mile ride, but I think it's lack of rear leg room for someone with plastic knees. Air-con isn't cold, re-gas needed I think. It's got really skinny tyres- 215sr15, bridgestones all round.
I'm pretty happy so far really.

Hello Dave . Welcome to the forum. The wheels and tyres that you mention sound like original spec steel rims for a narrow body Surf. Time for an upgrade, methinks. Have a look in the parts for sale section, or try Eflog, etc.....Cheers....Mick.

P.S. You should probably be getting about 22 to the gallon.

If the rims are steelies then you may have a pre-facelift version like mine? That's the only place I've ever seen them (I may be wrong!)

      Got any pictures?!
I've got a plan and it's as hot as my pants!

you might want to recalculate your fuel consumption. If youre getting 25mpg you will be doing well. 50 is simply not possible unless half of all your journeys are on a recovery truck

Funnily enough, it's got alloys on , they look original to me! 15" 7J so there we are. Got to get it going again first b4 I post any pics, washed fuel filter/accelerator cable area and now it won't start. Cranks OK, few puffs of smoke, then nothing. Don't half flatten battery quick, and it's got 2!
