I have a shiny new V5, but it insists I have a 2.4 oil burner.

Sorry Andy, I've no idea of the engine number.
This is the LS it came from though......

Maybe it's possible to find the number from the registration plate? (G578 VHA)
If not, then it's paint scraping time.

Checked a couple of the free data checks, none mention the engine number, that got me wondering....

Is an engine number actually needed for a V5, or is an engine type enough?

They need to know the engine number and the exact cubic capacity. (3968 cc/242.1 ci)

              Damn!

I'll see if my friendly, local, dealer will tell me. Otherwise, it's out with the emery paper and scraper.
