  • Auto Hubs

Just a couple of questions for you guys please.

How do Auto Hubs actually work?

    Do they need regular servicing?

If they go knackered can you just lock them in manual and the 4wd still works?

Did a search and could not find too much, so hope the experienced guys on here can shed some light.

You sure you got auto hubs? They were only used for a short time on very early models because they were crap.

My mrs has them on her pickup, they were clicking and banging under load, I took them apart and locked them permanently.
I can't quite remember how I done it though.

Nev, I have a Y61 now. Are these hubs not generic to most jap 4x4s?

Bin them, they WILL let you down, honestly. Manual hubs are cheap and easy to get, you won't regret it.

Yeah if they are auto do as Tony says. They can be converted to manual hubs by changing a few parts.
