Window switches

Hello.

My driver's side rear window goes down with the rear driver's side switch, but not up again.

The front (driver's) switch does nothing, not up nor down (only on the rear window).

When i put 12v directly to the motor, the window goes up and down when i reverse the polarity accordingly.

Will this be a problem with the actual window switch/es, or a relay or what?

I have had one of the wires break at the point of the loom where the door hinges. I just stripped them back and soldered them back together. Could be the prob with yours maybe ?

Could be as Webbo says or the contacts in the door switch burnt and not makeing contact, all my passenger switches packed up, windows would go down but not up, and thats all it was, stripped the switches and sanded the contacts and all working again, good for another year
