  • question about wheel spacers.

just a brief one, but i see the spacers on roughtrax are billet ally, but i have seen ebay ones made from billet steel. which ones are better?

my thoughts are steel as its stronger, any input appreciated.

if anyone is selling some let me know
well, that was a bad idea!

I have the ally ones and they work fine for me ..... I have had the steel ones as well on a older truck .

The less unsprung weight, the better.

nice point, thanks. looking at getting some this month now she is running sweet.

ruts keep pulling my camber out and causing massive negative. my track isn't quite wide enough. plus spacer look cool.

What wheels / tyres do you have? I had 30mm spacers on my truck with -43 offset wheels with 12.5" wide 33"'s. I liked the look but the truck is too wide for lanes (and legal roads). Plus I found the tracking was knocked out easily when going off road.

Spacers may be good for you then. The reason I say this is that when I had 31's on the 3rd Gen rims, the spacers moved the wheels out so they were flush in line with the edge of the wide arch.

I think the Surf steering setup is pants - I've had a lot of probs with my tracking. It got a lot better when I replaced all of the ball joint track rod ends though. I've lifted the front of mine to the limits though and this was the cause of my issues.
