  • non existent fuel filter

i cant get one for my surf, nowhere seems to be able to get me one.

its not the usual with the big sensor unit on the bottom, it has an 8mm hole in the bottom where a little drain plug screws in, if anyone could give me a part number it would be greatly appreciated.
well, that was a bad idea!

Then if you are putting the original fuel filter back on and it starts then one would suggest that the fuel filter is in itself not the problem.

                Does it idle ok?
                Does it rev ok?

Have you taken off the fuel filler cap?
Was there a partial vacuum and if so is the fuel filler cap standard?

One would suggest that a previous owner has had fuel issues hence the "non oem" filter.

the filter is shagged, the plastic thread on the bottom is ruined and nothing screws into it, so had to use a m8 bolt wrapped in tape to seal it.

it has a different primer head on it and no electrical sensor anywhere.

Then you will need to get a new filter .

I have a genuine Toyota filter head and filter here for sale, it's off a 3.0, but will work on your truck. £15+p&p.
