  • the Olympic games

Of the billions spent on the games. It's good to see that some money was spent improving the one of the few main roads leading people towards Portland for the sailing events. The improvements have been a revamped roundabout junction that won't work, and a bypass for most of weymouth that still drops you into a small road that struggles to cope with normal traffic volumes. As for the rest of the single carriageway road, temporary signs have been placed every now and then saying "delays expected during the Olympic games" Great, 6 weeks of traffic congestion i can't wait.
Hold my beer and watch this

You think that's bad.. They have closed the magic roundabout in Swindon because 'If you squint a bit it looks sort of like the Olympic rings'...
    it's in me shed, mate.

Don't mention the Olympics to me. My firm decided on the 2nd may to cancell my week off in July and September (which they had authorised in November). Because of the Olympics, and my firm have nothing to do with the Olympics, they decided not to bid on any of the contracts.
      So don't mention the Olympics.

poxy olympics who gives shite about it, would have been money better spent on policing, teaching, nursing, hospitals etc.
Should be a public vote to see if people actually want it over here before some asshole goes bidding for it, then keeps plowing more and more money in to the original budget as it wasn't enough in the first place, muppets.
Say not always what you know, but always know what you say.

I was rather annoyed to find that my cousin is representing GB in the shooting events as I was planning not to watch any of it.

You got my vote on the above as at least that would have been a worthwhile legacy. The only legacy we are going to have once the games have finished is a constant drain on the taxpayers to keep the venues maintain.
Referencing the football in South Africa when they built new stadiums as per FIFA instructions, a number of the stadiums are now white elephants as no one wants to rent or buy them because there just is not the capacity to make any of them viable! In the meantime some one has to pay for their maintenance!

                  Olympics

Cant think of a better way to while away the time,£10 for a burger,£5 for a hotdog and £4 for a small bottle of water, and you are not allowed to take your own food in,thats if you can get tickets for what you want to see
I might watch the ladies beach volleyball though!!!!

Mind numbing, total waste of public money and they are trying to claw back DisabilityLiving Allowances, and are trying to reduce payments to NHS and on top of that they going to make redundancies in armed forces what a joke.

I read that VISa have altered all ATMs to only operate with the card is a VISA card so tough if you have a Mastercard or American Express. Corporate greediness springs to mind. Games are turning out to be a bigger farce than we imagined.
The original Olympics were of fundamental religious importance, featuring sporting events alongside ritual sacrifices. Which politician would you like to sacrifice bearing in mind that it was Labour that landed us with this legacy?
