  • Aftermarket Steering Wheel

Can anybody recommend a decent after-market steering wheel, maybe leather covered and same size or bit smaller than standard.

Been looking on fleabay but not been very impressed.

Good news is I dont need any buttons apart from horn.

I got a nice Momo after ages looking on eBay. Cost £17. There is a pic in the Lexurf VI thread somewhere... They do come up at good prices if you are patient.

I've got one of these on my truck:

Really comfortable and the dish on it brings it into the perfect position for me.

Thanks for all the replies. I like the look of a lot of these.
Seems to be quite a price range aswell.
Do the Thornycroft ones have to have a special boss or adapter?

any one know if i would need a boss? or if it would even fit?
well, that was a bad idea!

Might do, it's amazing how interchangable Toyota parts are.

There are usually a good few being broken on www.IMOC.co.uk you could probably get one off one of the guys for a few beer tokens.

Yes. I used to have one and it was a straight swap with no boss. See this post and follow the link. Any '7715' will go straight on.

thanks sancho, brilliant link. the mr2 steering wheel is the rev 1 model, has no airbag the later rev 3 has an airbag and a different boss, shame as theyre nicer steering wheels.

what do you have in yours?

I have a Nissan Micra wheel at the moment, because that's what I'm driving. The surf is long gone, but I found a photo of it. Much better than the surf wheel. Presume it was a 'rev 1' as it had no airbag - it was kind of like a surf wheel gone right.

Here's the Thornycroft one. http://www.thornycroftparts.co.uk/13...4_3102671.aspx You will need to source your own adaptor from somewhare like Halfords.

This ones growing on me, it looks to be an inch or 2 proud of the standard one, ie sits back abit? When you say adaptor do halfords do these and what would be the spec, ie radius, spacings and bolt sizes? Or would Thonycroft have this info.
Im guessing a bit here as I havent changed a stock steering wheel since my RS2000 in 1985!!
