  • odd knock on ln130

hi chaps, i have an odd intermittent knocking from my engine on my 2.4, wondering if anyone could advise me on the cause.

right, it rattles/knocks sometimes when its started up, usually goes after a drive and goes if i rev it or use the idle up button, the idle speed is about 600rpm. is the idle too low?

also the bottom pulley seems to have movement in it as it in its not running true and straight, may be a cause?

what are common and known issues with these that cause rattles like this?

    any more questions please ask

    TIA
well, that was a bad idea!

    Pulley

It sounds as if your pulley has come loose, get a socket on there and check to see if its tight !

thanks for fast response ill check the pulley, and nice to see the idle is too low, helpful, its the fact that the knock is intermittent and weird that leaves me to believe that its external engine issue rather than internal.

anyway to lock the pulley without removing the starter?
well, that was a bad idea!
