  • For the first time ever

    I checked my MPG.

    It's not that I give a toss, I was just curious as to how much of a difference the towing would make.

    Anyway, Grangemouth to Inverness with a 750kg trailer - 19mpg
    Inverness to Grangemouth with a 750kg trailer and a Lexurf - 14.5mpg

          You mellowing in your old age, or has thrifty done you in?!
          Hope you enjoy the motor.
          In fact, if you can get it up and running nicely, and fancy a drive to the middle of England, I could make you a tidy profit....

            A bit of both, I don't enjoy it as much now that he's here.

            That I will, it's already upsetting neighbours and it's not running yet

              [QUOTE=Albannach;763111]I checked my MPG.

              If you're concerned about your fuel consumption, then you shouldn't be running a great big heavy 4x4..............Now where have I heard someone say that before............

                It was curiosity, not concern

                        Once you have had a 6l V12 which rarely makes it into 3 figures, Surf mpg (and even Lexurf mpg) seems pretty good.

                          I checked my MPG ages ago, with the lift and all that I was getting 23mpg ish. I noticed a few months before I've gone away that it seemed like it was getting worse but thought it was the way I drove it. Turned out that the near side brake drum was siezing!
                          Not even sure how - I never use the handbrake?
                          Oh Nana, what's my name?

                            Keep an eye on the pin that the h/brake actuating arm pivots on, When this gets a little movement the brakes adjust minutely over time and end up binding (voice of experience) it took me a while and a new set of shoes to cure it...
