    I don't know the specific area you're talking about but there are fields local to us covered in plastic to protect what I presume are crops from frost/pests.

    Been over to Blyton airfield today, on the way we noticed
    a lot of fields were covered with a "white cover", looks like snow
    from a distance, anyone have any idea's? Tried Googling it, and
    nothing! Just being nosey.
