    Hi all,

I found this forum while looking for a Surf and now I'm the proud owner of a 1993 2.4 TD which I just drove 100 miles home and they were the most entertaining I've done in 4 wheels!

I want to try and keep this truck for as long as possible so can anyone recommend a good specialist/independent garage within a 50 mile radius of London? I don't mind getting my hands dirty with engines, but I'm used to bikes.....not diesels, so I'd like to get someone who knows what they are doing to have a look. I'd like to get the oil and filter changes done and perhaps a coolant flush ready for the summer. I found 4x4toys.co.uk on here and they would have been perfect but unfortunately it looks like they temporarily closed.

    Thanks in advance

    Cheers,

    Paul

Dr Anglegrinder (4x4 Toys) isn't all there BUT if you want your Surf looking at then he's the man - give him a bell on the mobile number on his website and speak to him DON'T leave a message/PM/email ...

Dixie T. Knows a mechanic near you, Somewhere near Gillette corner.

I'm not far away if you need some help with bits and pieces at some point (I work at Osterley) and hello!

Thanks for the info guys, will try both avenues. I gave the truck the ultimate overheating test today.....London traffic....and it behaved It smokes a bit on acceleration so I've poured a can of Redex into the tank to see if that'll cure it until it gets serviced.

        Loving this truck

hi, and welcome buddy, you will more than likely always get some smoke accelerating away in the 2.4 (not sure about 3.0 as dont own one) enjoy!
well, that was a bad idea!

You won't go wrong with Dr Anglegrinder - He's good!

You aren't driving a burgandy 2nd gen with no rear wheel carrier are you? I saw one today on Syon lane/Windmill lane, I did flash and wave.
