Do you have a EFI 2.4? If so this won't work. There is no stop solenoid, its a spill control valve that constantly steps up and down regulating fuel flow depending on throttle position (and other sensors) putting constant 12v to it normally just melts it.

What fault code do you have?

Red? I thought the Check Engine light was orange, ah well.

Anyway, that's not an error code, that's a warning light. There's a procedure to pull the error codes. Wouls you like me to go find it for you?
