Indentifying type of tx from VIC

Hi everyone
A friend of mine has recently got a 3rd gen with manual transmission. It drivetrain vibrates very unusually when after slowing down he tries to floor without downshifting . He was wondering if its real axle / diffrentials have been replaced by the previous owner or it has been converted from auto to manual.

What can be the reason, after driving auto, either we are not used to this vibrations or there is something else. Bc another 2nd gen dont vibrate like this under similar driving conditions.

Can we make out from VIC, if the vehicle is original fitted with a manual gearbox. For example this is the vic of my auto surf KD-KZN185W-GAPGH, "A" here should mean AUTO. Any guesses?

You only have to look at the data plate, it has the trans/axle code on it. it will tell you the gearbox type and diff ratio it came with.

Are you sure its not just bogging down at to lower revs if you're not down shifting, what sort of revs and in what gear are we talking about?

Also check the engine and gearbox mounts.

Just tell him to change gear sooner/at a higher rpm. He should know/feel the engines labouring...

All cars will vibrate when the revs are too low. It would interesting to see what rpm he's changing at though.

Tony it does so when its under 2.2K rpm. It doesnt bog down but is slow in pick up like when we are in 3rd or 4th. The vibrations fade away after 2.2k or if it is given a down shift. My auto cruises fine at 1.5K but this wont.

Yeah thats the solution this will happen when the rpm is b/w 1.3-2.2 K
but interestingly the auto wont show this behaviour, may be because here there exists a mechanical coupling between engine and tx whereas in auto torque converter wont let the vibrations pass on to drivetrain
