  • Fitted new steering damper today and....

    WOW! What a difference.
I didn't have a BJ splitter, so struggled to get the original damper off. Bought a BJ splitter, and it literally fell off. Deffo recco the ones with a screw, did the job A1.
So went for a drive without the damper, and it felt normal, no different to what i've been used to. skipping and bouncing over bumps. Constant wheel correction etc...
The old one seemed to be just full of gas, with a springy action at some points and basically just very sloppy/loose at others....
The new one (Rancho) is nearly impossible to pull out and has massive resistance. fitted relatively easily for me, and WOW what a difference.
Put one wheel in/up/down the grass verge at about 30 mph and the steering was perfect, no pulling or sudden jumps left or right. Plumes of dust though as I kicked up dried earth, grass and debris in my quest to test the new damper.
Definitely worth the upgrade if you have twitchy steering.
