Actually, going on the experience of many, you don't actually need to make any mods to run the Surf on pure veg if you wish to*

To the OP.: Can you be more specific about your problem you're trying to solve? (Also for the record that ebay seller will ship to the UK, not that it is likely to sort a lot of problems that people often buy them for)

does anyone think something like this wrapped around the fuel filter would work not sure if it would get hot enough

A hint at what you are trying to achieve might be an idea?

Diesel and especially winter diesel will not start to wax untill the air temperature drops to around -15 or so.

Why would you want to have a heated fuel filter?

Basically my truck will not set off in drive have to drop to LOW and manually go up the gears

however for last few days I have sat with the revs at round 3000 for a minute or so will pull off in drive and was fine all the way to work has done this a few times now is also ok after a good run on the motorway almost as if there's a blockage or something that needs blowing out

so just trying to rule out fuel issues

have installed a non-return valve just before filter

                  cheers guys

It Is not fuel related. If you have an issue changing gear until the engine is warm, my suggestion...again...is to look at the sensor that tells the box it is warm enough...or the box is uncle franked.

where is said sensor (any chance of a pis so I know what I'm looking at) but not sure its being warm that the trigger as high revs just blows a bit of smoke and clears any "blockage" not really long enough to get warm as temp needle also doesn't move until a few mile down the road

                      cheers

Until th eengine is warm enough, it wont allow the box to change up. I dont know where the sensor is, a grown up will be along soon to say where.

cheers mate but revving it made it work and wasn't long enough to warm engine up so feels more like a blockage that is cleared by high revs

How have you checked the ATF levels?

Just because the temperature gauge doesnt move, doesnt mean its not warmed up enough. If your'e going to go down the fuel route good luck...but it aint that.
