  • Nearly bagged a "new" chassis

For anyone that dose'nt know I've got to re chassis my Surf with one from a 4 Runner, because Toyota france have said that there are far too many differences between the Surf and the 4 Runner for them to give me a European Certificate of conformity. No Certificate and it can't go into the French system.
Well I've found a Wreck with a registration document and I've got the vendor down to €800 this evening (believe me,thats good for France)!!!!

    Have a look:-

I just need to work out what the remains of this truck would weigh?? Anyone an idea on what the engine and a manual box would weigh?

I may have a few spares available soon LOL!!!!!

    Regards

    Mark

From the factory, a Surf/Runner weighs around 1895kgs.

A bit of nip and tuck has gone through my mind, espcially as the surf chassis is spotless, and the 4 Runner one is likely to be,well lets just say, less so!!
Other than the MOT guy no else will look at the truck, and he may not even look at the chassis no's,especially if I buy him his morning coffee and red wine before the test center opens!!!!
