  • Wheel Bearings

Hello everyone, I hope you are all well?

I am having a bit of trouble getting my front wheel bearings replaced.

My surf passed its MOT a few weeks ago, with the front wheel bearings as an advisory, so I have bought 2 wheel bearing kits from rough-trax.

TonyN said a while ago he can fit them, but I cant get hold of him to arrange a date.
I have tried to get a price from some local mechanics, but they dont seem interested, one said his computer told him it will take 3 hours to change each side?
    Is this correct?
Is it that hard a job to do?

Please give me some advice on how hard it is to do, and how much it should cost me.

    Thanks, Stuart.

There's a bit if work involved but i would have thought a decent garage should be able to both sids in a couple of hours. Hardest part i found was getting the old shells out and pressing in the new ones.

I've done my own a couple of times now in the garden with no problems.

Give yourself some time nd you could doit yourslff, or bring it up to brum and I'll help if you can't get hold of Tony

Hello Stuart. Before you buy wheel bearings, be aware that they may only need adjusting. there is a lock nut that can be adjusted. This video may help........ http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Z5bF9...eature=related .....This video is just one of five in the series....Hope it helps......

Edit. Sorry, it should have been this one....http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K1t5k...eature=related ..........
