thanks this is my first surf it is 1990 log book says 2440cc not 2446cc is this a mistake on their behalf ?

I'm a relative newbie too, I would search topics on coolant flushing and make that your first priority. Check with last owner if it has it's original head still. If yes, take the advice given to me when I first joined and start saving up about a grand.

It was sound advice.
