I did have both front and rear props off recently when replacing T/Case oil seals (the problem was already happening before this I should add) and greased all the nipples then. Before and after removing the props, I noted that I could rotate by hand a bit of slack on both propshafts... is that normal or should there be no free play? As far as I could see, the free play was not centred around the UV joints, but from within the T/Case and front/rear diffs.
There are no clunks bangs or other noticeable noises when driving the vehicle, other than the symptom of this thread of course!Leave a comment:

Never really travel quickly enough in reverse to cause the problem - certainly never noticed it. Don't get a squeak from reverse gear either.
Should say that I have already done two 'part drains' of ATF and it is now clean and full to correct levels so not ATF related I would think.Leave a comment:

Strange jolt?
When braking to a stop, as I release pressure on the brake pedal and the auto box takes up the drive, i get a noticeable jolt that i can only assume is coming from some part of the drivetrain.
It doesn't happen when braking gently from slowish 'about town' speed, only from normal driving speed and it also only happens when braking to a dead stop.
It is the same in 2 or 4 wheel drive modes though.
Any ideas what is causing this?
I have tried the search function without success, but sorry if I have missed it through unimaginative key words in the searches!
