    94 surf 3l. engine 1KZ-TE
what bits it can be straight swap to the 94?
the 97, is it same running gear of the land cruiser?year?
thank you very much in advance.

The 3rd Gen has a lot of commonality with the Landcruiser COLORADO or PRADO of the same era BUT there are some differences including rear disc brakes on the LC and I think their may be differences in the 4WD system

As far as I'm aware the 1KZ-TE engines themselves are identical although there may be differences in some of the ancillaries attached

Hopefully an adult will be along shortly to give you some real detail !

Bobs bascially right, you may have electric EGR on the 97' motor, and the dipstick is on the other side on the engine. Apart from they're basically the same.

If the 97 is an intercooler truck you'll need to swap the intake manifold from the non intercooled truck

You may find some of the actual plugs on components have changed shape too, but that dosn't have to be the end of the world.

ok thanks, not sure if i will do it,
that depends if i can put on the ancillaries of the 94 on the 97engine.
if not i might have a 97 surf to get rid for spares.
ah! is it possible to put the intercooler of the 3rd gen on the 2nd gen (easy, bolt in bolt out)? (this one isn't)
did you get my pm tony?
        thanks.

I have an intercooler for sale, complete with silicone hoses and mounting bracket for a 2.4 Surf.

Or swap for an intercooler bonnet.

Am I correct in thinking that in order to fit one you must have a lift of some description? If not, and if nobody else has dibs on it I may be interested.
