Now to be fair I went to a Surf owning mechanic who specialises in 4x4 vehicles, but yeah it sounds steep.

Theres a whole Scottish chapter of surfers on here can no-one help you out on this. Timing belt is an hour job, for anyone, probably the easiest I've ever done and as far as I remember the pump seals are a doddle too. Thing is with these mate if your not prepared to get your hands dirty you'll need Fred the shreds wages to keep it up to scratch. Order the parts from roughtrax and have a go, just put it all back as you found it and she'll run, download a manual, google it, theyre free on the net. H

As yet, we don't know what vehicle the OP is talking about.

Who is that you are using Bud? Always good to have someone local who knows these trucks.

Not if its a 2.4, its a PITA long winded job.

Like Albannach said, make a huge difference what truck it is.

Its an all day job to do a Cambelt and fuel pump seals on a 2.4

£800 is a little steep though, I'd quote more like £150ish plus parts, which will only be extra £60-70 I'm guessing.

Exactly what are they doing for £800?

I'd have thought ~£400 (including parts) for the timing belt, water pump, idler, tensioner, drive belts and pump seals (you don't need to do them all, only the top cover).

usually try fix things my self and 9/10 times it works just dont want to mess abt with this due to it runing the timing belt

There are lots of write ups on what/how to do it. The 2.4 belt IS a PITA, buy if you're having the pump off as well...
                          Non intercooled nothing.

there changing all the seals on the fuel pump and the timing belt he saying the car will b in for 3 days also saying that it mite be more if a need the tensioners and pullys replaced he came recommended from a few garages but think its a bit steep tbh

Read post 9 one of the best rated Surf mechanics quoting 150 plus 70 for parts and you are still considering paying this joker 800 and he MIGHT change the tensioner and pulley. No one changes just a belt.

Book it into to Tonys and go for a wee visit.
