Help!!!

Just broke down on the m6 in my new surf! There was a constant screeching noise like you would hear from a belt and then all of a sudden THUD!!! I lost all drive and then I put the truck in 4wd, it drovenfor a mile or so then it lost it's drive again. It is starting no problem, but when I put it in D there is no drive and the speedo is moving up at the same pace as the revs. Any help would be appreciated guys.
By the way it is a 99 model 3.0 td intercooler if it helps.

Have ya checked the ATF level ?

Definitely sounds drive-line related if the speedo is moving but the truck isn't.

Update

Just got it off the recovery truck and there is some oil leak for definate, will have to put it on a ramp tomorrow and I gotta say it looks worrying.
