Hello Eamon. Welcome to the forum. Do your research, and get yourself a good 3.0 td gen 2, or 3. You'll find either a fantastic improvement on the old 2.5 tdi Rangie.....Cheers....Mick.

Cheers mate, I need to make the plunge, do you know if the gen 2 and 3 have the same sort of power and gear ratio for cruising , and which one is the most easy to work on and service, I am torn between the 2 , thanks

Power wise & gearing are pretty much the same but a 3rd gen is a little easier to work on "in my opinion"

        Oh by the way, hello

        P.S. 3rd gen have a better 4wd system.
If its not broke don't fix it.

Get a 2nd gen, and a lexus. Give Bushwhacker some cash ( the kids don't need Christmas presents), and watch a twenty year old Toyota 4x4 embarass all the local boy racers!

          Welcome btw.

Cheers guys and hi, I have never driven one, are they that quick ? My range rover I slow , and it's a bit heavy to drive for the other half, it's been good had it for 4 years, looked at Isuzu but they seem to have lots of problems with the fuel set up, I need a 4x4 lug a few bits about and I can get on and off the river bank in the winter, are the auto boxes good on them I have had lots of problems with autos in the past , and do they mind standing , some times I don't use the truck for a few weeks, I love the way they look always wanted one but been a bit shy, I like stuff I can fix myself
