Just got a quote from Adrain Flux of £609 fully comp v's £407 third party for a 93 Surf. Given the age and value (paid £1600) does anyone have any experience of what the insurers would actually give you if the truck was written off, ie: would you get at least £200 to make it worth paying for fully comp.?

Any answers by 4pm would be great please, as i have a call back then.

    cheers

      A '93 2.4 will be worth, maybe, £800-900.
Do you know that, with a 50 character limit, it's

Andy, Would that price depend on the condition? I mean if the truck was very clean on the body and was pampered, then the OP might be able to get an agreed valuation but he would need photo's to prove the condition. We used to do this with classic bikes and car's, I'm not sure how it would stand with the Surf but may be worth investigating.
I'M ALWAYS IN THE SH'T, IT'S ONLY THE DEPTH THAT VARIES!!!!!!!!

I suppose something could be negotiated, but I don't recall anyone doing it with a Surf. First time for everything though, and maybe, as you say, worth a look?

The price I suggested was kind of what we'd pay for a 2.4? Insurers use single make forums and Autotrader as much as Glass' to value things these days.
