  • Heating the bed liner for Hilux

    Hi there,

I have a Hilux, 3.0,2006, prepared for offroad extreme, but for reasons of appearance 2 children, I am forced to close the bed liner with hardtop styling and give up at rollbar an metal closing.
My problem is that I have also two dogs with transport cages, but I want to heat / cool the cabin in the bed liner for the dogs comfort in winter or summer. How can I do that?

    Thanks in advance,
    Alex S.

portable 12 V heater/fan or tap into a air duct, but you probably won't get any flow unless the cab vents are closed....
or use the rear heater from a surf and run the heater pipes into the bed?

Fabricate something similar to a domestic underfloor heating system under a false floor made of thin plywood and refit the bed liner on top? Connect into the vehicles cooling system with a seperate flow control valve similar to the one on the bulkhead, to shut off the coolant flow when the heat isn't requiered.

You may also need a extra water pump to get the coolant round there, top idea vincent
