Power Steering

Hi All

My steering has been a little tough/juddery when parking so I looked at the PS fluid and yes its low so will need to top it up, but I went through a big puddle yesterday and lost power steering for a couple of seconds so could that also be the belt is too loose as well? how tight should it be?

The belt needs to be tighter than you think. I think the specification is an inch of movement on the longest edge, but from experience, that's too much.

A belt too tight brings on a poo, usually.

Yup, the usual rules for tightening belts don't really work on the P/S belt as its too short.

Just get it 'tight' (without going over the top!) and it'll be ok.
