30,000 people sitting around desperately waiting to be "offended" by something, actively looking to be offended by something, anything will do.
And as for all that pi$h about Jeremy Clarksons views !!. I dont know the man but Id be reasonably certain that he does not in fact hold the view that public servants should be executed in front of their families, he presumably says stuff like that for a laugh, and even if you dont fall about laughing , most normal people, ( the ones who are not desperately seeking to be offended by anything and everything) will at least spot the humour and have a wry grin. I dont know if the world is getting worse, or if looking back comes with rose tints, but everyone seems to have this overwhelming desire to hunt down offence these days. The truly ironic thing for me is that I find this deeply offensive.

Surely most people by now must realise what Clarkson's like. Just deal with it.

This guy sums it up perfectly!

The Now Show: "the BBC's balance rules: if a show has a far-left wing comedian, they must balance that with a centre-left comedian"
I'm not sure exactly where a friend of mine just got this from but it made me smile and seemed vaguely relevant to the thread.

EDIT: It came from "The Now Show" on radio 4.
