At last I now own a surf....

hi to all the surf gods...
I have been reading this site for about six months now and am now the proud owner of a grey 93 2.4td ssrx surf, which I bought off fleebay about five weeks ago with no tax and mot.
Done most of the work myself, just needed all the drive belts changing, a 30" AT2 tire and a service I think so far.
Got it booked in for mot on monday so fingers crossed it'll pass.

Yay it passed....

Hi and thanks for the welcoming, took the truck for its MOT other day and it passed with only one adviseary, NSR anti-roll bar bush, happy days
Anyway when i tried to start her up yesterday it took about fifteen seconds, I thought it was coz she was nearly out of fuel so put £25 worth of Morrisons diesel in, drove back to work, let her cool down a few hours and tried again to see if that sorted the problem.... I was denied. Thinking of changing fuel filter and putting some injector cleaner in.... Any ideas guys will be much appreciated.

Good news about your MOT, always nice to get them through first time.

Nice straight looking truck, those wheels look mint aswell.

I think it might be worth checking out your glow plugs, make sure there
all ok, its as good a place as any to start if you have cold start issues.

If you use the search function on hear theres loads of info about everything
to do with these trucks, including poor starting.

Thanks for the reply guys, its much appreciated, this might sound a bit anal but what is the best way to check to see if there working properly...?
Yeah the truck is very clean, no rust on any of the panels, of scratches or dents, only on front bullbar and a small hole in the back bumper.
Got the reciepts for everything that has been done to the truck too.
Will use the search box to find out about the glow plugs....
