Imagine that...a car passing an mot...next thing we will be able to do is buy an expensive paper disc, to decorate the windscreen.
Good job the OP wears pull ups...helps with poor bladder control, and the shitting of ones pants, when you get the welding estimate.

We had a 1997 3rd gen low mileage and sold it in October 2010 and got a brand new Mondeo. After 8 months got so fed up with the Mondeo and auto gear box problems we handed it back and bought a 1996 3rd Gen and that was after testing driving most 4 x 4s on the market with the exception of LR. A test drive several years ago was more than enough to be put off LRs for life! Toyota SURFS rule!

Now her Mitsy has been recycled (moved on) not dissected, the missus swore at me the other day "what about a LR"....
I said "I fixed enough of em when they (LR) needed help, I'm not fecking subsidising em as well, now" so feck off ..... now swear words are not alowed in our house especially those sort !!

If you care for the environment, but also need a 4x4 for some reason, you have a moral dilemma. It makes LR the only choice.
You offset the ownership of "gas guzzler" against future disposal and its environmental effect. The LR will dispose of itself by biodegrading before your very eyes, leaving you with a relatively clear conscience.

Well i'm about to get slated!!!
I owned a Discovery for 18mths in that time i replaced the gearbox, clutch, and coil springs, disc's and pads all round plus a new set of tyres. In the truck's defence it never broke down or (whisper this quietly) need welding, The g/box and clutch replacement were due to the output shaft being worn and clunking which i didn't like, apart from that, a 350mls full throttle dash (the thing did 92mph flat out) to be at my dads side in hospital it never failed to start or get where i wanted. So what's the secret? It was a chelsea tractor for 8yrs of it's life so was never abused (until i got it). I do prefer the surf though as it is better all round..

                            See? All you cruel people?

In 18 months, a Disco only needed a new transmission, suspension and brakes. Dead cheap to run....

Well it was cheaper for the springs and brakes than the surf but that's where it ends.
