How the hell did you work out that the Private sector is paying our pensions. I pay into it myself thanks. Its only worth 4k per year, Try asking the MP's who are public servants why they are getting a pension of 77k per year!
    Zzzzzzzzz...

Public Sector (been there, 25 years in MoD) 'generally' get bigger contributions from their employer - who are funded by Government. They in turn get their money from the tax payer.

Where did you think the money came from?

Anyway, I've had the arse bored off me every time I've put the telly on today by the most bolshy of the lot, the teachers. So... you get FAR more holiday than ANYONE else, work FAR less hours, get pretty damn well paid (I looked into becoming one about 5 years ago but decided hating kids was incompatible with the career) for what you do - yet you're STILL not happy?

What I will say though is I found the roads were bleedin' empty today.
Swindon to Heathrow this morning normally takes about 2 hours , well today I was parked up with 40 minutes to spare

My beer is far more interesting...

It was nice not having to face the 'school run mums' on my bike today, I must admit. Another day of successfully cheating death

It was a bigger feckin shame, when the one eyed tosspot Brown, overspent on the country credit card. If you want to start shouting the odds, go back over the last decade, and bring to book the incompetent fools, who bought favour(read votes), by extending their own credit limit.
If you spent more than you got in, would you then take another credit card out to pay your old credit card off.
Or would you stand outside your place of work, decrying Tory supporting ####s whilst ignoring the fact that the great social experiment over the last few years , where people are paid to be sick, and the British potato council quango, recieved billions in subsidies.
There isn't any money to brass plate your pension. Do what the rest of us have to do, and supplement your own retirement plan.

                  Mrs B here..

                  Whingy, whiny people!

Had it too easy for too long the lot of you!! Grow up and join the rest of us who've been made redundant 4 times, never had a chance of a company pensions, lucky to be in the jobs we were because if you said no to the extra pressure and extra responsibilities that came with no extra pay THEY FIND SOMEONE ELSE WHO WILL. I've worked in the local council offices as a temp, laaaaaaaid back place I can tell you. Can't get a permanent job there cos I'm not related to anyone. NHS care during and after my lil one .. 'oh there goes Tinkerbell'. Carers for my mother (15yrs Alzheimer's) and then few years later my father.. what care? ..'don't do baths Mrs Woodage, don't do feeding Mrs Woodage, sorry must dash targets to meet!

All you managed to achieve was to inconvenience HARDWORKING people trying to get through the mess the politicians are already making of this country!!

Btw what did 'they' all do today, if 'they' weren't actively striking then it was a DAY OFF ....then those jobs are not deserved eh!

YOUR AGAINST THE WRONG PEOPLE MY PENSION IS NOT GOLD PLATED. THIS IS WHY WE WENT ON STRIKE

UNISON, the UK’s largest union, today branded it a ‘national scandal’ that the country’s highest earners get tax breaks worth £10 billion every year on their pensions contributions. At the same time, low wage public sector workers are being told to work longer, pay more and get less in their small pensions.

This tax giveaway, to the top 1% of earners on more than £150,000 a year, is worth more than three times what the government is trying to raise by taxing public sector workers’ pensions. This is even worse when you consider that top bosses in the UK have average pensions worth 34 times more than the average public sector pension.

Just SACK 3pc of the public servants and you've covered the shortfall. Now, hands up if you want to lose your job...

Reading the email comments on the BBC.co.uk, talking to colleagues, customers, family, listening to 'the man in the street' etc etc, I suspect there is very little support for the PS folks.

Yes, I'm sure you feel hard done by. Yes it could be painful. BUT it's a reality most of us are already facing. The PS have had it better than the rest for a long time (I remember how good mine was). There is no more money. That's life.

Let's face it, if you get what you want, you're then going to be staring down the barrel of redundancies in 6 months time because, as I said, there's no more money in the pot - unless the private sector is taxed even more - and I'm f*cked if I'd be happy about that!
