  • car smell!!!!!

the daughter in law's Corsa has suffered an horendous smell for ages and became extreme during last summer, I had enquired everywhere about de-oderizing smoke pellets etc...bless her she had to use the car for transport and we put it down to spilt milk or the grandsons baby sick?

The Full Facts Can Now Be Revealed - during a service and Mot last week her mechanic found a card board mush lodged under a seat that was once a packet of fishfingers!!!!

so when I say horendous smell can you imagine fish fingers rotting and cooking over 9 months including last summer

On my last day of work for a previous employer, me and a colleague dismantled the dash of the works pick up and packed the heater pipes with cod in batter, fresh from the chippy.
      it's in me shed, mate.

For at least six months she didn't think to look under the seat?

No, you only look under the seats when carrying out a service.

The ten pairs of shoes were in the way...

Get a tray...put charcoal...PLAIN CHARCOAL... On the tray and leave in the car as long as possible. By magic it soaks up bad smells.
            .... Which was nice.

For real? I have a bin juice leak in the back of one truck from a trip to the tip and it honks. Just BBQ lumpwood?

No self lighting/soaked charcoal, but I guess you realised that. So yes..STD stuff. Leave as long as poss. You can always invite us all over to use the charcoal afterwards for a Sunday BBQ...

wee bit wrong there - what you need is activated charcoal, cook it in the oven to burn all the snot out of its pores then the empty pores soak up the guff. its whats in a spray mask.

by the way the smell will come back either when the pores are full or you take the hundredweight of charcoal out of the back

                  dettol - kills everything

A number of years ago Gazza, when playing for Rangers, hid two freshly caught trout in the car of a team mate (Gordon Durie I think it was) as a jolly jape. If I remember correctly they eventually wrote the car off because even after stripping out the complete interior they couldn't get rid of the smell. Wonder if charcoal would've helped?

or simply a half hour work over with at wet and dry vacuum cleaner/carpet cleaner.
Half hours work got rid of years worth of crud that had been thrown in the boot carpet and seats,
smells like a brand new car not a 21 year old battle tank
Its a new truck, Because every parts been replaced
