I know someone with 900,000mls on their 2.4

In that time it's only had four engines and three bodys.... Yep his name is Trigger..

Sorry guys....the broom joke still makes me laugh...
      .... Which was nice.

20000 miles is at least 4Ks worth of diesel. I've got bought 'something' for my 100 miles a day that will hopefully save me a fortune.. but it's horrible so I'm keeping the truck..
          it's in me shed, mate.

and you always need a spare £1000 for the inevitable cloud of steam.
Not true if its been done properly already
the 2.7 is a much better truck for daily high mileage use and is much more refined to drive.
Very true, but big difference finacially in using a truck he already owned, or stumping up for a 2.7l 3rd Gen.
pssst - maybe i'm a wee bit biased being a petrol burner
So bascially you're no help to him at all.

Thanks for all the replies!! Good to know there are some high milage 2.4s out there.

My main driver for looking at this is that I used to rent a lockup and could keep another vehicle as a back up or play thing, but have a little one on the way and got to give it up.

Think I will give the surf a go as my daily driver. Ideal for my work as I install irrigation systems, so during the spring and summer I do a lot of miles both on and off road. What I like about the surf rather than a pickup is you can fit long things inside without having to use the roof for storage.

Just out of interest, anyone seen a Toyota Fortuna in the UK? My best mate moved to Thailand and there are loads over there. Presume this is the new surf but not though of interest to us all by Toyota....
