  • Thunder saloons from the late '80s/early '90s... ....

Remember them? Sometimes I think technology and those H&S meddlers have ruined motorsport.

Close racing, recognisable cars and plenty noise. Perfect.

Did I see a Starion turbo in there?

Drove one of those with no rear shocks round the airfield perimeter track I worked on at the time. Not broken rear shocks, NO rear shocks, like none. That was interesting.

          I'd love a Manta 400.

Couple of fellas I know race the stock cars, not quiet thundersaloons but great close and often contact racing. Great way to spend a Sat night, pie, coffee and petrol fumes.

I used to frequent newtongrange with my mate whose dad raced saloons at the time, great times. His daughter races now and does very well.
