I do have a Peugeot 406 family orientated turbo diesel estate in a rather fetching shade of dogs nob red however, and I have noticed and been meaning to ask, even though it has a smaller engine than my surf it is noticeably quicker taking off in first and second gear, then continues to be quicker through third, forth and fifth gear, eventually topping out at a much higher top speed than my surf, all the while being much better on fuel! Conversely I have found bizarrely it is absolute rubbish off road, believe it or not it struggles with merely high kerbs and moderate puddles!

My question however is this, surely with the facts as pointed out above would I not be better off putting the 406 body and engine onto the surf chassis then surely gaining the best of both worlds and also being as the 406 roof bars conversion is quite popular I would not even have to waste time dropping the headlining as I would already have them!
What a awesome idea ,I wonder why nobody has thought of that before.
