Finally got myself fed and watered after an amazing day out!.Now can relax with a generous glass of Talisker.
Can honestly say I can't remember the last time I smiled so much or had as much fun in my Surf(apart from well ahem)
Many many thanks to Biohazard , TonyN and Mark & Ian.
It was really good to have the opportunity to go out green laning with people who have the experience that a newb like me luckily didn't have to rely on.
If Bio's truck disappeared in a wave of muddy water I took the easy way round
I was truly surprised that on my way home from the muster point the route to the "main" road was a whisker shy of 8 miles and nearly a straight line just shows you how massive Salisbury Plain is.
I reckon allowing for the vagaries of the surf's trip meter it was about 100 miles off road.
Apart from a now oval ,read flat exhaust tip and a ashtray that kept opening, the rear tow hitch acting as a plow and the constant bottoming out the Surf has faired remarkably well coping with some routes that I honestly thought "no frickin way" then smiled even more when I got through.
Oh and a loose side step rattling and vibrating which I had convinced myself was the turbo bearings falling apart !!!!
So tomorrow have to get the pressure washer out and give the" 'ol gurl " a good clean especially the rad!!
Thanks again
