  • had a quick play about with the torsion bars

After ordering some 2" longer rear springs this morning, thought i would go out and wind the torsion bars up a little bit. Also removed side steps, tow bar and roof lights. Going out this weekend so should be good fun now

What about Animal's 3" coil spacers instead? Just a thought...

yea got them from roughtrax, wanted fast and reliable delivery so paid the extra like £15 for the peice of mind.
i didnt go for spacers as my standard springs are starting to sag. plus you don't get as good results for off roading (from what i've read)

"can't is a word that should not exsist"

Is this a really clever play on words, or have you just spelt it wrong. I can't decide.

Please don't tell me though, as I think its more intriguing not knowing!

Back on topic, unless you can really articulate, I don't see how spacers are detrimental to the average off roader? Just means you get a lifted truck with a nice soft ride!

I can't afford to increase wheel/tyre size so anything more than 2" would look odd. I'm not sure if mine are sagging but with only a small amount of weight in the load area the back drops quite a lot so it think they have lost their strength. Does the LSV need to be adjusted with only 2"lift?

I wouldn't be concerned if just replacing saggy springs with RT+2". Real height gain is more like 1.5" over "standard height". I've got a the RT+2's and 2" spacers and 2" body lift - the LSV hasn't been moved (yet) and the rear brakes still work! When I fitted mine (RT+2 springs) I was disapppointed as I thought the back end would be sky high. What I will say though is the RT springs are extremely progressive in strength - I filled the back/back seat with a whole pallet of themalite blocks, and the RT springs only dipped a little. The originals would have been on the bump stops....

I`ve just fitted my RT +2 springs and I`m really pleased with the results, already have a 2" body lift. I did not realise how bad the sag was on my old springs, the back was a good inch lower than the front and as soon as I fitted the springs it sat 2 inches higher than the front, I`ve adjusted the torsion bars up an inch on the front and busy making some ball joint spacers to take up the rest and get it leveled off, looks awesome with 33`s on

Hopefully get the spacers fitted this weekend but I cant promise anything as my missus is due with the little`un next wednesday and she looks like she could pop any day lol. I`ll get some pics as soon as I have them done, it doesnt look right at the minute with the front pointing down.

I`ve been using the lip on the body sill for measurements as the wheel arches have been "modified" by various obstacles encountered offroad so they are all at different heights, will get both but you may have to average the wheel arch heights out a little!
