I think its ok to be honest - if the idea was to make it better off road. Get's rid of the Surf's huge fat arse which is always the first bit to hit the ground.
As a road truck, it's less useful than a standard one. Horses for courses. Anyone looking for an off road Surf could do worse than take a look.Cutting steps in the roof of the world

Its a good effort, but bit of a fail overall.
If you're going to put that much effort into building an offroader, address the suspension, rear overhang isn't that important once you have lots of lift and big tyres.
5/10.

Hi Folks,
yes indeed this WAS my old surf - I sold it recently to a trader who was either going to keep it, move it on or break it!
The looks of the truck got many comments whilst I owned it and believe it or not most were positive - I quite liked riding around in something that looked like a reject from a Mad Max movie. It was great fun to drive both on and off road and was a very sound and capable truck - it was built by Supersurf so if you want to know the history just ask him.
It should be in this months Total off road magazine off roading on Exemoor in my last trip out in it - irrespective of what anyone thinks of the looks it was great fun, there aren't many surfs that you can do donuts in, powerslide and drift!!!!!!
Now my surf has gone I guess I wont be on here much more so will say Hello and cheerio at the same time lol
