I'm glad we don't do that any more. Lot's of choice mind you, but there is a Grand Pooh-Bah on here (I'd have given even him a run for his money this week though...)
Whenever I've used the term Grand Poo-BAh to anyone outside my family they have looked at me blanky, I thought it must be one of those family specific terms.
Just wiki'd (which should please one person not a few millimetres from here) and found its from the Mikado (and the flintstones). Never knew.
I thought it was an American term - first heard it on the 70s comedy 'Happy Days'. The square kids dad was always trying to become one at his local 'Lodge' (American Masons?)
