"Over the last 6 months or so I have been busy painting the cobra. I set up my shed as a paint shop complete with a $15 fan in the door and $1.50 plastic drop sheets. This worked amazingly well as the static from the dust sheets also attracted any paint and dust.

I have never painted a car before so it was a fairly long process nights and weekends making sure I got all things right. I would estimate 100 hrs body prep, 4 coats base coat and 6 coats clear. All painted with a $49 Super Cheap spray gun.

    The pictures tell the story.

      That looks amazing.

Cheap gun, some plastic sheeting and a fan!

Makes me want to do the same with the surf.

Keep it to yourself, but I'm watching one on E-bay at the moment.

I know I know that would be my dream project. But the wife thinks too noisy
Some pretty reasonable ones about at the moment - guess winter is coming...

                      It won't that noisy with a multi-valve Lexus V8.

The wheels are totally wrong on the one in your link, plus I don't like the interior/dash.

Yeah, I agree for a change, a car like that needs old skool deep dished mag wheels, or wires.

The dash is ok for me though, very traditional (unlike the wheels!).

Totally agree re the wheels. But I'm with Tony on the dash. Hang on. Tony!? Why aren't you under a big black truck...?

Maybe it's because it's white that makes it look amateurish to me. It should be black or the shape of the one in the first post.

C'mon then who's gonna have the first Lexurf TVS?

That's quite a lot of boost he's running there isn't it?
