Nope its not dipped, its sprayed.
It's called a mirror candy .
Basically you spray the car gloss black , the shinier you get it the better the chrome effect.
Then you apply the mirror candy coat and laquer over that.
It's awesome stuff and I've used it.
Not cheap though
Met him awhile back....quite a laugh and a nice guy....
Drove Duncan ballintyne last Sunday...what a ######..guessed he would be...came out the hotel with his new Brazilian girlfriend...she had to be all of 21 years old...
Apart from the very shiny finish, it was the amount of water going on that I was amazed at (it stops pooling and build up of the finish). As animal said it's expensive but being able to coat almost anything must be a plus, have a look on you tube, there are examples of all sorts (not the sweetie) including a basket ball.
As we're on the subject has anyone used the chrome aerosol stuff and is it any good?
I had the Saabs alloys coated in this stuff...cost me £400 but was worth it. 1st coat of black was powder coated and then the chrome was sprayed and baked on.
