Ok guys. Tech question tonight. I would
Ike to re gas my ac on k reg surf but am aware that r22 no longer in use etc.

I am also aware that you can not re gas a r22 with r314a without certain steps.

To drain, clean, convert and re gas the system, would it be easier to buy a brand new system and ditch the old one? Has anyone done this?

    Many thanks

It can be done but as most will agree it is costly.

I have converted mine but then I know what I am doing

I know of a few that have just had the R12 recovered and have put in R134a .

I recovered mine by opening the wee valve thingy and going for a coffee.

According to the ac guys working with me Andy, the correct proceedure is to "crack a flare and go for a shit"

Makes some noise.when there is upwards of 5kg of fridge gas.....

Could you give me some info on the replacement please if you have done it yourself?

I could recover the system and chnage the oil for new 134a but I dont know how much oil to put in the compressor etc.............

Cant seem to find anything on line either
