Never seen Gen 1 springs before, but my dad had a "extra cab" H reg Toyota Pick up and I think it had a lot beefier springs than yours - ie more leafs for progressive assistance (think it was transatlantic 4x4 he got them from back in the day) Are they "lifted" springs or standard?
But back to your axle stands, Id be more inciline to use some thick wood than concrete, as it cannot just crack and crumble.."B.A." Baracus: "Talk to me, talk sense so I can talk back. Not all this jibberjabber like breaking the peace and all that."

It's a 1st gen, the chassis would crack and crumble before the concrete blocks!
Sorry Ian, couldn't resist.

I had extended shackles in a Mk2 Escort based Jago Geep, running 31x10.50's whem I was 17, and had a lot of sideways movement as a result.
just MHO."B.A." Baracus: "Talk to me, talk sense so I can talk back. Not all this jibberjabber like breaking the peace and all that."

just MHO.
That's why we are looking into a way to shorten the shackle length , I need the height being on 35 inch wheels and need the size to do all the plain can throw at me although the main reason is now a OUT OF BOUNDS AREA ......I still like it as it has a presence.' I'm surprised those shackles haven't buckled before now.Last edited by BUSHWHACKER; 1 October 2011, 23:22.
